“Flora and the Descendants”, portray the concept of mortality, the contrast between life and death, and how Earth sets the stage for our short spur of vitality. I wanted to convey the idea of human mortality as the accepted norm; we “all come from dust, and all return to dust” (The Book of Ecclesiastes 3:20, The Bible). Being born is essentially the first stepping stone into ascending, or in some cases descending to our inevitable demise. While we may depart in spirit, our shells return once again to their origin only to produce life once more, in an everlasting cycle.
